Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Keep all children in sight at all times and use Student Transition Sheets properly.
  • Be aware of your surroundings and report or correct unsafe conditions if you find them. Keep rooms clean and organized.
  • Use only positive child guidance strategies to instruct children.
  • Practice compliance with state licensing and accreditation regulations
  • Implement The Sunshine House curriculum in a way that meets each child's unique learning style.
  • Meet physical and emotional needs of each child and provide an atmosphere that makes children and families feel valued.
  • Come to work on time, enthusiastic, committed, and professionally prepared every day.
  • Work with your team to achieve the center's goals.
  • Be aware of accreditation standards and do your part to gain or maintain accreditation for your center.

Work hours may vary to meet the needs of the children in our care and to maintain state requirements. You may be asked to work more or fewer hours than originally scheduled.  After proper training, you should be able to anticipate classroom needs and follow through without direct supervision or prompting.

It is sometimes necessary for staff to move between classrooms and to work with different age groups, so your classroom assignment may change according to center needs.
